Lodge News Our brother Frank Kautz II is the proud recipient of the Joseph Warren medal which is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon anyone who is a member of the Lodge. Much to Frank's surprise, the medal was presented to him at the June meeting of the 13th Lodge of Instruction. Frank's parents came up from Pennsylvania just to witness this great event. Frank had no idea that he was receiving this medal as he was asked to make a presentation on what the Joseph Warren medal was and provide a brief history of it. Frank did an exemplary job of making the best presentation that he could on the subject. Frank was totally surprised when the Marshal left the room and then came back in with his parents being escorted to the East of the LOI. Next time that you see Wor Frank Kautz in lodge, please spend a few minutes to talk with him and congratulate him on such a great honor. The Joseph Warren medal is awarded to those who show the highest level of service to their Lodge, the Fraternity, their community, as well as their church and it is for this great service that Frank has been awarded this prestigious award. Congratulations, Frank! In other news, in addition to Frank winning the Joseph Warren medal as a result this brought out a lot of brethren from Mount Hermon lodge and our lodge won the LOI attendance award for that evening. At our September meeting will be displayed the Green Shamrock that is the LOI attendance award. It is my hope that during the 2010-11 Masonic Year that we will win this attendance award many more times. We need to win it as much as Friendship won it last year as I think that they had it for most of the year and only 3 times was it taken away. Twice by Mount Hermon and once by Golden Rule Lodge! Last piece of news is that Mount Hermon had it's installation of officers on Sat, June 19. It was a hot and sweltering day, fans were everywhere trying to cool the room down. It was a great day of fellowship and fun. We witnessed the old officers retired and the new officers installed in Grand Fashion! There were many presentations and we would like to thank Bro Michael Saverse and his family for the wonderful gifts that they presented to the Lodge. Brother Michael and his family presented a gift of Masonic degree charts for the instruction of the degrees. These will be very helpful when doing the degree work for the upcoming year as well as for instructional and teaching purposes. After a wonderful dinner prepared by Maureen Estes and her crew, the brethren and guests enjoyed a great meal and lots of fun times. The friendship and camaraderie that was shared by all will be memorable for quite some time. As a Lodge we are growing and are thankful for these wonderful times and we all hope that we can continue on this path of revitalization that will continue to bring great, wonderful and memorable times for everyone.
